Sock puppets

The use of sock puppets (fake accounts created by "you" [generic]) to support yourself and/or your side, is pretty shameful.

It appears this happened here.

I won't mention any names, but I will tell you it wasn't Fred. It is a current member though.

Anyway, a member here created 3 accounts (I guess didn't know about our Dupe-warrior software). While slagging me off, a virtually brand new account suddenly popped up and slagged me off too. I don't remember if the 3rd account slagged me off too, but I know for a fact that at least 2 of the accounts did. Even worse, is praising your sock puppets for attacking enemies too.

So, each sock has a different user name, despite being "puppeteered" by the same member? And they "talk" to each other, in order to create faux dialogues – the illusion of multiple members holding the same opinion, and ganging up, against you? And only you?

IF the GT systems are so good at detecting these dupes, I'm unclear why you would be discussing them in the public forum first, rather than taking a corrective action. It sounds like we are only getting part of the story, which, actually is pretty common in certain people's accounts, these days.

It wasn't as elaborate as that, but that is the general idea though.

The sock puppet accounts have been disabled.

The worst part was that one of the sock puppets was pretty "ghetto" and the creator of the sock puppet was white.

I love debating topics with people, but we need to have it be fair.

Just looked and only the main and the "ghetto" accounts were used to attack me.

The 3rd account was used to post rubbish in other parts of the forums.
