Dating apps opinion?
-
Thanks very much, I just want to give these dating apps a try though, feeling like we limit ourselves a lot if we rely only on traditional methods of dating
but apparently on dating apps there's a huge pressure to look good, and it feels like we humans are objectified.I've been on all these things you mentioned and it turned out exactly the same
met a few nice guys through Tinder though, and talked to some on Scruff but they're half the world away aha.Anybody have some uplifting stories about dating apps?

A friend of mine convinced that it's normal to use such apps, but I feel a bit scared.

grindr seems like the most well known. but it depends on your area on which is more popular

Dating apps are great, but you need a thick skin and low expectations. There are a lot of fakes, flakes, time wasters, and straight up assholes on there.
Grindr is the most popular in my region, but also the least effective for me. It rarely leads to anything. I prefer scruff and planet romeo.

About that…
Really...
Are people that much of idiots? Was thinking about starting a new topic but why do people actually waste time? I can get rude responses, I do them sometimes too, but not when I'm politely asking the guy if he's going to the gym nearby and he just says in the opposite direction than me and blocks me lol
The reply was pretty on point. Good taste there. But the block ruins it cause he was just afraid of going further in conversation and me replying probably. I'm not ugly and I didn't have an actual facepic, just a part of face and a flexed biceps so that's what even more funny. He couldn't have even know if I'm his type.
Last adventure I had was getting a match with a guy on Tinder. So dope. It said he is studying in UK and came to visit the family. Before 30 but very muscled, handsome, tattoed. We chatted and went on instagram and he had pics there and stuff and we were going to meet on the weekend and I asked him about the phone number. No reply. Then after some time I looked him up and someone even commented and posted the link to the real profile. He used an Australian model pics. And faked it adding them through days and giving fake descriptions. Like... what kind of shit does that lol? How much you have to be psyched up to fake someone's instagram and set up for dates you don't even plan on going.. It's just somehting I don't understand, really. I would maybe do it for revenge on someone, but if you don't know someone... well that's plainly shit. More cases like that of course. -
@warpaint: i also don't get the behaviour of some people. The guy in your 2nd paragraph is such a case. I guess he's enjoying the attention? Who knows.
But different folks consider different things to be rude. I don't think blocking someone you're not interested in is particularly rude… That way, they don't waste my time and i don't waste theirs. For example, Profiles without facepics are not interesting to me, i always block them right away. Not meant as a slight, it just means, I'm not for you, you're not for me.

Like totally.
Sociopaths? maybe.No.
Blocking is a blessing.
And it shouldn't be considered personal. It's a path to success. Just don't take blocks personal - that's it. To me it means the same thing you just wrote in the last sentence. I hate faceless profiles… but I sometimes have hope that there is that one shy big muscled guy behind them hahahaha. Sometimes I will just text those profiles with "show your face" and some people will response - some won't. The ones that won't or are rude - sure are a waste of time. -

most gay apps lets be honest are all mostly people looking for sex. however, those apps can and are all also used to date to. you just can't be mad if someone hits u up seeing if u wanna hook up and you get mad because thats not what ur looking for. get over it cause all the apps are about sex first

Grindr is getting so dull of ads and spam…and Scruff is like the bloat-ware of apps. It's a sad landscape for decent design and attracting a decent local crowd--especially in the midwest

If you are not really into one night and all that sh*t, I guess tinder is the most realiable one. They cannot upload nudes and even trying to get something quick does not work there so that would be my first choice to try something serious.
