Identity politics hurts all. I'm a businessman, and my sexual orientation does not define the fact that my top priorities are for common sense tax and regulatory laws. That's my top priority; not my sexual identity. That's what keeps food on the plate and the mortgage paid.
In all business, you need to treat everyone with respect. If you act like an ass towards your customers, they'll know, and you won't be in business very long. So, as far as transgendered restrooms go, I get both sides of the argument. Transgenders want to be treated with respect, while law enforcement has uses the gender identity of bathrooms in order to nail genuine perverts for Trespass, thereby kicking genuine perverts out of your business permanently.
Government needs to stay out of the businesses domain, and let the businesses behave according to the treat your customers respectfully rule, and the marketplace will take care of itself. I'm sure I've had transgenders use a restroom that doesn't correspond with their gender at my business before: law of statistics, not verified knowledge. There haven't been any problems. People need to trust in common sense instead of hyping matters. Common sense is a two way street. We need to not look to push the envelope just to make virtue signalling points, and businesses need to treat us with respect because that's what businesses are suppose to do. When this breaks down, the business will lose customers if they treat them disrespectfully, or gain customers if the virtue signalling garners a backlash.

Because it's shit like this that causes places like NYC, Canada and others to punish people and businesses for accidentally misgendering someone. NYC, for example, punishes businesses $125,000 each time they accidentally misgender a person, and $250,000 each time if it was on purpose. How the fuck is anyone supposed to guess that this girly girl claims she's a boy?

This is false. I live in NYC. No business has been fined for accidentally misgendering someone. You can be fined for deliberately misgendering someone repeatedly after they've made their pronouns clear to you, although this has yet to happen.
Again: how does this impact you?
Just because it hasn't happened YET, doesn't change the fact that it is the law.

Canada's version of the law is not NYC's. NYC does not penalize unintentional misgendering.

If you lived in NYC, I would respect your gender. The law says nothing about impersonating famous people however, and you would likely be subject to prosecution for identity theft.

Here's my two cents on the whole transgender bathroom issue:
Stop asking how people identify. Stop making gender exclusive bathrooms.
There will always be Cartmans in this world trying to take advantage of a controversial subject for their own gain. All you can do is weed them out when you find them and stop giving them the attention or special treatment they are looking for. In any case, you should not be holding people who really do feel this way accountable for the people who only pretend to feel this way.
Also, we could be looking at a person who was born female, feels like they should be a male, but wants to be a female because of societal pressure or parental influence. Or maybe they were born female, feels male but enjoys not conforming to gendered norms with regard to clothing choices and hairstyle decisions.

I've actually never been part of a politics forum in which mods were allowed to participate like you have. Do you not see an issue with participating like you do in maintaining a semblance of balance though?

I don't think anyone here (left or right) has a problem with using the bathroom you present as, but the issues come from people claiming to be something they clearly are not. We already had the case of the pervert who presented as a man, but claimed to be a woman so he could take pictures of young girls.
Besides, let's not limit it to the bathroom issue. The laws that are coming in and lefties are advocating for would let George "The Animal" Steele (see the pic I posted in another post) claim to be a 6yo black asexual lesbian, so he could join their wrestling competition. NYC's law seems to say that because he claims to be that, despite presenting otherwise, they would have to let him wrestle 6yo girls. Canada and others have similar laws.
