Can someone tell me the difference in paycheck for the following in the porn industry?
what pays better in porn?1. Straight / Gay porn (gay actor vs straight male actor)
2. Straight / Gay porn (gay actor vs female straight actor)
3. Safe / Unprotected sex
4. Fetish porn (watersports, bondage etc)
5. does age also play a role in pay? -
I would imagine it would vary greatly by studio. It's not like there is a union or anything.

From what I've heard, gay porn pays much better than straight porn, for male actors. Gay porn models also tend to have a longer career, and use their porn work mostly to drive up their rates for their actual career, which is escorting.
I have also heard that apart from a few popular models, fetish work is poorly paid, and the money is actually in webcam shows and escorting.
The highest paid sex workers however, are females who have made a name for themselves in the BDSM sex world, and none of them do any porn. Some of them dont even have sex with their clients.

5. does age also play a role in pay?from documentaries…assumed/implied i agree with others in that it depends on the studio for the "Talent Fee". some who are managed by companies get less due to the cut by the booking peoples, while others self manage and negotiate themselves.
All of this depends on their popularity at the time, as you may know few porn actors become porn stars.1. Gay male.
2. Similar...but the ones who do lesbian scenes are probs paid slightly more
3. unprotected....but again it depends on the studio
4. not that much difference from none fetish porn performers. can be less for the amount of effort and paraphernalia involved

YES. again along with popularity and the niche market. but the stereotypical for gays is usually younger.I heard as well that Cam Shows is where the money is at these days, which is actually why a lot cam sites have popped up. also there's so much stigma between Male performers doing gay porn. Majority of studios don't hire anyone who performs gay scenes or perhaps they haven't found out about it, but once they do, they stop booking them.

5. does age also play a role in pay?It's all gonna vary by studio… but as a general rule, the harder it is to find actors willing to do it, or the more you can sell the product for, the higher the wage
So gay pays better than straight (smaller pool of willing guys). Bare pays better than condom (smaller pool due to increased risk). Young probably can pay more than old (typically more of a market for 18-25 than 35-45), but there's also that more experienced pays more than new (established name, people want to see), and fresh can be more appealing than played-out - so it's all going to be very dependent on the specific situation.
Studio wages have crashed for what its worth - some of the top line might still pay $$$ for a scene, but I know there are sites offering only about half what they did a couple of years ago
