Most countries nowadays have metropolis and bigger cities where people are more accepting of gay people because they are used to them.
In a little town though…where everyone knows everyone...well, there's a saying in spanish that goes like this: 'Small town, big hell'.

in small societies it is much more harsh to live as an out-of-the-closet gay man.I would suggest not being so open about it, so you are more carefree, regarding society that is.
