I don't see anything wrong with it, really, but I could see why it would make some people uncomfortable. I'm 30 years old, and I still kiss both of my parents on the cheek (but never on the mouth, we just didn't do that). Would it have made any difference if it was his mother? Or is it because it's a family member? Everyone is set off by something.
I've seen young parents kissing their young children on the mouth, and again, it's a peck, not something extended or inappropriate. It's a sign of affection…the world could use a whole lot more of it.

I find it weird now that I'm an adult, but I used to kiss my dad on the lips too.
This video of a celebrity and his son kissing on the lips also gained a shit ton of attention here in the Philippines.

I agree kissing on the lips between father and son is perfectly acceptable. And very normal in some cultures (eg latinos)

Well if you freeze frame it like that then it looks weirder than it is. I'm not really familiar with cultures where this is considered ordinary, so yes, I find it a bit weird.

Wasn't it common for Russian men to kiss on the mouth as greeting and so on? Also walking hand in hand? USAnian men don't do those things, and damn few who ain't gay will wear a speedo at the family beach or community pool. Still astonishes me when hetero men refuse a friendly hug at greeting or departure lest they be compromised and suddenly seen as sissies. Weird.

In an early Teen Wolf episode, two high school girls vying for the cheerleader squad end their audition routine with a prolonged lesbian smooch only to be ridiculed for having tried something that has been done before and is, basically, "so yesterday."
