Holy crap… Some of you guys are seriously brainwashed by the media.

#7 The Republican party is not against gay people. They completely moved off of the marriage equality issue prior to last election cycle. There are GLB Republicans and much of the recent political turmoil has revolved around transgender people and I feel bad for them. Honestly I don't think politicians know how to respond to that issue.

Perhaps you should actually read the Republican Party Platform from their own web site before you make such ill-informed statements. Check out section 6 titled "Great American Families, Education, Healthcare, and Criminal Justice" and you'll find they explicitly want to redefine legal marriage to "one man one woman" excluding ALL same sex marriages.

Before you try to tell us these bigots are not bad guys, take a few minutes and read their own words.

Thanks for playing ill-informed statements game.

It's your constitution right now, they're not going to touch it. It doesn't matter what their platform says. 60% of their supporters are against it and that's why it says it. Even if they replaced Scalia with an anti marriage equality supreme court justice, that doesn't matter, since he dissented. Be concerned if one the majority judges dies and get replaced with an anti equality judge.

Unless you think Trump is going to start assassinating them or something insane …

Obama appointed 2 justices in his first term…do you think Ginsburg will live forever?

All my gay friends are very concerned and afraid of this new administration. I know several couples who are married and worry, once the new SCOTUS is appointed, a ruling could come down which would affect their marriage. The country just took 2 steps backwards in equality.

BLM came about as a result of police brutality and unlawful/unjustified killings, that were particularly inflicted upon the black community.

It has no basis with Obama or Clinton and you know that! Stop peddling lies.

Actually, you are the one peddling lies. The entire BLM movement is predicated on false narratives. 1) Trayvon Martin was found to be the aggressor against George Zimmerman and that is what caused his death. 2) Mike Brown and the whole "hands up, don't shoot" was a LIE! Proven by not only eyewitnesses but by the forensics.

Over 100 FBI agents investigated the Michael Brown case and found that it was a 100% justifiable shooting.  From memory, the final report has 22,000 pages of evidence.

I am more worried about Muslim extremists, I mean they would rather kill you than look at you, but keep worrying about that sky falling.

My husband has been in business with Trump for 20 years, and used to be a big donor for HRC and the DNC. I can tell you with 100% certainty– gay people have NOTHING to worry about regarding Donald J. Trump.

Oh, I'm sure he'll let Mike Pence do the anti-LGBT stuff while he stands back and watches. There are none so easy to fool as those who want to believe I guess.

The Democrats figured this out decades ago, and with the MSM have cultivated a population that has lost critical thinking skills.

Trump himself doesn't seem overly anti-LGBT, but he sure surrounds himself with homophobes.  I have very little confidence in the coming administration…

Trump and his 'friends' don't scare me but the people who voted for him do.

The attitude now is, If I don't like if F%^k off.

                          That scares me.

MARRIAGE EQUALITY IS PART OF US CONSTITUTIONAL LAW.  IT WOULD TAKE A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THAT.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO PASS AND THE PROCESS TAKES YEARS.

Dude, no it wouldn't. All it would take is a sympathetic supreme court. And any supreme court that was willing to overturn Roe v. Wade (which Trump has promised) is willing to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges).

I wouldn't try to lecture people on Constitutional Law when don't seem to be aware of what it is in the first place.

I guess that's it then. Even after gay marriages have been invalidated and outlawed, minorities and immigrants fear for their lives and Trump supporters run roughshod over all opposition there will still be some of us saying "but he's not anti-gay!"
I hope those of us taking taking this stance are the first ones to be victimized. Sorry if that makes me seem like a dick, but at least I have LOTS of competition in this thread.

Trump might not directly be anti-gay but he's appointing super-conservative people to his staff that most certainly are anti-gay.

The USSC rarely reverses it's decision and it's never done it to strip a group of their rights.    And as with all supreme court cases, it takes years to wind their way through the courts and by then too much time would have passed.

You are getting hysterical over something that has worse odds than winning the lottery.
