Since I'm not an American, my question is, why is it that being "Republican" became a butt of joke even in str8 or gay community?

Republicans are deemed to be hate mongers and many other bad things. While they claim to want to get the government out of our lives, they insist that the government belongs in our bedrooms. They claim to want smaller government, but every Repub President has massively increased the government. They want to reduce government spending, but each Repub President has massively increased spending.
The Democrats aren't much better.

To name a few reason off the top of my head of what they are against that I am for.
This is not saying All Republicans but it sure is a majority.
A Womans Right to Choose.
Equal pay for women
They will do nothing with the gun issue
They don't believe in Global Warming or Science in General.
Gay Rights
Religion or should say any religion that isn't theirsThese are off the top of my head.
