I have been told that I am too thin to be a bear but too stout to be a hunk… As I am 167 cm tall, quite shortish and have a baby face ( with a slight shadow of goatee style beard ), I need some help. What kind of gay am I? An otter, a bear, a cub, a musclebear ( hahahha ),... or an alien?
      Hope you like my photo.
      Hugs from Spain!

Some of the larger dating sites refer to "bear" as a personality, though obviously it's a stereotype of a body form.
A lot of those labels started off as a way to separate masculine looking guys from effeminate or as an excuse for larger guys to have a category, but they've at least partially evolved into a type of snobbery. A lot of people are shunned from these communities because they don't meet that one persons idealizations and for that reason is why I would say "fuck all those labels", just be yourself. However, if I was going to categorize you in to a body stereotype I would say "bear".

you should proudly show off your belly instead of trying to hide it, your body is very sexy 🙂

and I'd say you're a bear… but does it really matter which category you're in? the only important thing is that you like yourself the way you are, and the people important to you like you too 🙂

Ok, thanks… that´s true, to be myself is the key but i have had lots of chattings and when i showed my photo they said: oh, my Goodness, you are too thin to be a bear... or... oh, dear, you are too fat to be an otter... so, it is the same...
That´s nice to be here and listening to you, guys, because there are many people that they don´t know what they are talking about or if they try to label people into categories...
i´m hairy and proud of being hairy... i´m overweight and proud of being "beefy and stout"... i´m bald with a goatee and proud of my salt and pepper hair... but... you know... the majority of people in my country ( a small island in Spain ) are very prone to categorize everything and i am a free soul but living in such a "narrow-minded" context hurts a Little...

you can definitely be a bear if you want to be!  🙂

some people have narrow definitions of what a bear is, but i think it's more about what's in your head than how your body looks.

Good on you for being at peace with yourself. Too many are preoccupied with fitting exactly into a category to take a step back and happy with what they do have, as opposed to mourning for what they don't.

Well, what do body types do? It's not like they give special powers or something. Don't mind about body types. Your body look fine as it is. If you're happy and comfortable with being who you are now, why should everything else matter? 🙂
