Yes, it is one of the largest economies in the world, yet it has a 15-20% poverty level, with more than 12% unemployment, though I think both of these numbers are low.
I visit Brazil often as it is close to my new country of Chile, however, the cost of living there is expensive so many might not be reported as poor but still are working poor.
Many guys are looking for a foreigner to fall in love with so they can leave the country.
I am not saying all are like that but it's more the norm than the contrary.
Yet all of the Brazilian men are hot each in their own way.

And that's an underestimation… 25% of the population lives on social assistance and most poor people don't even qualify for it. Real unemployment is probably close to 25%.

The average wage in Brazil is roughly $600 USD/month which is below the poverty line in the developed world. The cost of living in Brazil is insanely high.

Brazil is a beautiful country, but it's a huge mess.

I don't like to generalize. I live in Sweden and the rest of the world seems to believe all swedes are Thor-like; six feet, blonde, blue eyes. This is so so so not the case.
I'm sure many Brazilians are hot, and I'm sure many Brazilians are not.

                    Yes they have problems.
Not many countries don't right now.
The people suffer but still live on.
I live in a nearby country and know very well.
However, if you look at 'real' statistics, the US also has a very high poverty level, but the government and media don't talk about it.
Latin America has had problems for many years mainly because of other countries taking the resources and the figure head governments raping the rest of the country.

I'm Brazilian and I find all generalizations here very discriminatory. I wonder who are been compared to?
