why are muscle guys so hot? especially bodybuilders.

Because it's what society has established for us as a role model for beauty.

This and the fact that from the stone age the most powerful males where those that had the best pick in the partner choice… now we are all for equity, now we value the brain over the muscle in work, politics and similar (mostly) but we are however animals and our instincts guide us toward those we judge the best mate.
Not all see the muscle guys like that, but at instinctive feral level we act like this...
