Android Download Problem with Utorrent Pro
-
Hi. I have Utorrent Pro for my Samsung Galaxy S5, running Android 5.0 Lollipop, rooted.
Utorrent will download virtually any torrent I give it…except those from gaytor.rent. This has consistently been the case for years. Does anyone else have this problem, and is there any solution?
The gaytor.rent torrent is accepted by uTorrent, allows me to choose where to download the file, but then just stays "calculating" or "gathering information" indefinitely.

One idea comes to mind…
Delete the prior download of the torrent from you uTorrent Pro... then...
Try logging in, on your web browser, to your account...
THEN download the torrent anew, and see if it works then...???

I'd try as well with the non secure http tracker URL starting http://tracker.gaytorrent:2710/… i/o the default https://tracker.gaytor.rent/…

OMG that is ASTONISHING. It works!
In fact, consider this. I had a gaytorrent torrent just sitting in uTorrent, doing nothing. I logged on to gaytor.rent. The torrent continued to do nothing, even after stopping and restarting uTorrent. I found the original torrent on my Android and restarted it in uTorrent. Still nothing at all.
So I delete it in uTorrent, and, go to my browser where I am logged in to gaytor.rent. I do a search and find the same torrent I had previously downloaded, and download it again. Click it, it pops up in uTorrent, and WORKS!
Now what's so bizarre is that the only way my uTorrent gets gaytorrent torrents to download, is if I am signed in to uTorrent. I would only be starting them in uTorrent if I was already signed in to the site. So I don't understand why this is working now, when I've been unsuccessful through KitKat and Lollipop at downloading from the site.
Regardless of why, THANK YOU! (and if you can explain "why", I'd love to know!)

Well, you're very welcome, and I'm very glad that idea worked!!!
If pressed to explain "why" I would be saying…
Our torrents are private, and they must contain your membership private secret passkey, in order to function with the Tracker...
When the torrent is downloaded via the website, it contains your (authorized passkey tracker ID), and only then, will the torrent function with the Tracker Server...

Actually there are two things that must match:
- the torrent's hash
- the tracker URL including a valid passkey
When downloading a torrent, it gets the tracker URL with the downloading member's passkey inserted into the information contained in the .torrent file
However, assuming it is a same hash torrent, the tracker URL can be edited, so it contains a passkey. Most torrent clients have functions to edit the tracker URLs, or there are "Torrent Editors", including online. So downloading it is not the "only" way to get the right tracker URL with a valid passkey.
