How to improve your Ratio

Greetings. Can anyone explain to me what a "POWER USER" is and how one attains such a status? Thanks!
Click on "Rules" on the top blue bar, then click on "Moderating rules - Whom to promote and why". I don't mean to be a 'smart ass' but you will find that if you read the "Rules" "FAQ" and the "Guides & How To's" in the Forum section there is hardly a question that is not covered.
I am a bit dense; but I was unable to find "Moderating rules- Whom to promote and why" on the "Rules" page. However, there is a section for this on the "Rules" page of ST.ru–I was just wondering since Director97 or other Users may have trouble finding this section.

Is there any particular way to get beyond power user, or is it completely at staffs random discretion?

The rules for Power User are: "Automatically given to (and revoked from) users who have been members for at least 4 weeks, have uploaded at least 10 GB and have a share Ratio above 1.05. Moderator changes of status last only until the next execution of the script." In other words, the whole process is automated.
The other categories are VIP then Moderators. These are totally up to Joker. And by the way, anyone who applies for VIP status is will be automatically disqualified. You can apply for Moderator, but be aware that you have to be willing to work on the site, and you also must have certain capabilites that Joker feels the site needs (like a foreign language that we do not currently have).

Im kinda new at this. Not a techy person. I did read the rules and regulations and try visiting forums. The problem is im not really sure of the whole torrent terms. Like creating torrents or seeding them. Sorry im a noob. But im trying to understand. Another problem is, im using Utorrent. Lets say i want to make up ratio goes up and my connection here is bad. Do stop downloading and just let it upload? But then again, how do i do that with Utorrent. Sorta new to this whole torrent thing. Sorry.:(

It's a great to see other new users donating to such a well run site - one of the first things I myself done when I joined was to donate. The people here really do deserve a bit of help paying for what must be large costs to keep a site like this up to date and running smoothly.

well i'm a power user but then again my Ratio is 2.541 lol but there are good things about being a power user like you can Invite Your Friends and get some seeded GB added to your Profile right now i got 4 invites when you upload more you might get more i don't know yet i have uploaded 24.63 GB so far so we will see when i make it to 1 TB!!! thats my goal is to hit 1 TB anyways have a good day

LOL, it does look like that, I admit. But I mean what I said without meaning to "suck up". I waited years for a site like this to come along, and I am very grateful to all involved.

i uploaded a torrent (size 2.6GB) that has completed almost 2.9GB however it hasn't seeemd to have affected my ratio and the stats on the torrent show me only as having upladed 43MB

I just looked at your Member page and it shows you have 'Upload' 49.07 GB. I am replying to your post within 2 hours of your posting, so I don't see where you are getting the 43 MB (your message says 43 MB, but I am pretty sure you meant 43 GB!.) I have NEVER in almost a year that I have been a Mod, seen a case where a Member sees ANY different DL or UL numbers that we Mods see! It just can not happen! We see the same UL/DL numbers that you see.

thanks for the reply to my 'lack of information' post. At http://tracker.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=14198&dllist=1#seeders when i look at all seeders I am now showing as having uploaded 788.23 MB when in fact my utorrrent says i have uploaded 3.59GB This is the confusion i have….

I understand I have been blocked for the ratio of 0.171 and all activity has been stopped but I cannot comprehend how that is possible since I have been seeding for a while now and actually have re-seed requests on seeds that are blocked at this moment.
I understand that you want to get rid of the leechers however, blocking me all together including my seeding?
How am I to get my ratio up now??????

So to ask the question, since I have completed torrents trying to seed, they cannot because of this ban (also I have been seeding for a while); since I cannot upload to even seed is the only option for me to "donate"??

You can still seed (and re-download) torrents that you've completed, in an attempt to increase your ratio.
My guess is that the torrents that you've been "seeding for a while" have had a low amount of leechers, which have barely made any difference to your ratio.If you decide to upload a torrent. Then yes, you will be able to re-download the torrent-file to successfully seed the file.

There are three ways to improve your Ratio:
1. Seed torrents with a lot of leechers, or torrents with very few or no other seeders.
2. Upload a new torrent ? make sure you use ?Search? to prevent duplicates, and make sure that you are not seeding or leeching anything else until 3 or 4 others have snatched the complete file. (Read the rules!)
3. The easiest way to improve you ratio is to click on the ?Donate? on the top blue stripe. Make a contribution to the site to help defray the hundreds of Euros (dollars) a month it costs to keep this site on the internet.
Im seeding like crazy, U32.67/D93.95 but my ratio keeps droping. When does it start to go up? And please tell me, what do I get for exchanging the bonus points when I reach 100, it says something about on the fly but I dont understand what that means. Also,how much of an increase in ratio would I get for $20 or so?
