I think the same as you: I liked Madonna a lot, but she fell when she made Bitch I'm Madonna video.
This year Madonna has disappointed me many times, and that video was the worst she could do. I made a Tidal account only for watching it, and I realised that it wasn't what she promised: she said Beyoncé, Miley, Katy… were going to be featured in the video, and I only watched a crappy videos recorded via Skype.
      Where was Nicki?
And for the last, the video had a bug and I didn't watch the last 30 seconds till the next day, when the video was uploaded to YouTube.

      Madonna has lose a fan.

She has money so she can buy big-fancy producers and songwriters. She will make good music, and she will always sold every her show, but she is just mediocre

I don't think she's over, but she's got one or two more albums to figure out what she wants to do and where her place/lane is.  The days of being what she was to so many people are over.  Musically, she hasn't been relevant for me since "Confessions". If she can pull off another of her famed reinventions, more power to her, but if not, she needs to find her way to a Calvin Harris, Diplo, Zedd, Skrillex, or, even better, find the next new thing like she did when she found William Orbit and came up with Ray of Light. She'll always be able to tour, but it's usually better to have new music to tour with.

Have you serviced your Dom today?

Yeah, she's about to play Madison Square Garden in September.. and that's no small feat. The new album maybe over but she isn't.

I think Madonna can be great again if she goes less electronic/dance (EDM), goes more pop (cuz electronic music has changed a lot since the eighties & madonna's original charm is lost when she tries to keep up with the trends) & hires better songwriters. Artists like Miley Cyrus & Rihanna & Beyoncé keep evolving & doing whatever the fuck they want~ which is something I admire in all of them. She should try to do the same.

But what's pop? I thought EDM was the new pop?

There's many kinds of pop music. Also, pop only means popular. So Ariana Grande (R&B influenced pop), Haim (Pop-rock), Meghan Trainor (doo-woop inspired pop) and Charli XCX (synthpop and punk-inspired pop) are all pop artists; they just bring their own flavor to it. I feel like Madonna has lost her 'flavor'. On MDNA, she just hired a bunch of French DJ to produced 'hip' clubs beats and the whole album was weird; young people didn't really care for it. I only liked 3 songs on it. For this last album, Rebel Heart, I feel like she just did what Diplo said was cool. && The reason I say she needs better songwriters is because she really needs catchier hooks on her songs- not just on the chorus…

Remember songs like 'Holiday', 'Sorry', 'Like a Virgin', 'Candy Shop' and 'Get Into The Groove'. Rebel Heart was not up to par, I'm sorry.

Maybe she should hire Charli XCX to write her a few songs.

Hey kairinamine.. I like those songs!!! Thanks!!!

I was thinking.. "What could Madonna release that would make me want to go out and buy her new music?" I couldn't come up with anything. To me, she's pretty much said and done anything I'd be interested in. Even if she was produced by this Charil XCX, I don't know if I'd be interested.

I wish she was. Sadly I think it will take a stake to her black heart 😉

                          😄

I previewed "Rebel Heart" and I'm impressed!! I think it's a quality album. Sadly it won't much attention.

While we're on a Madge rant, here's a link to a reworking of one of her old tunes "Who's That Dub" (and not one pic of the bitch).

She hasn't released any decent music in about ten years.

Agreed that her older material was better.  If you skip listening to the radio edits of her handful of huge hits and focus on the 12 inch remixes, the production sparkles.  At the time of their release, her tunes were arguably the highlight song of the night for months after, especially in the gay clubs.  There was nothing to top them.  She had a string of club hits that, at the core, were beautifully produced by John Benitez.  Her career was greatly helped by his skill and musical choices.  The same could be said for Donna Summer who was one of many voices used by Giorgio Moroder, the grandfather of disco.
