What do you do before you wax?

When you plan to wax body parts, do you shorten your hair with scissors or do you apply wax right away?

Anyway, why do you have to wax? (I'm a pro-hairy dude :cool2:)

I just feel cleaner and more groomed when I wax. It just feels good to run your hand on smooth skin. But it's something I like for myself. I don't mind if my partner is moderately hairy.
