¿Por qué esperó nuestro/a hijo/a tanto tiempo para decirnos?

Puede ser difícil darse cuenta de que no conocen a su hijo/a tan bien como pensaban. A muchas personas gays les toma largo tiempo entender lo que sienten. Muchos dicen que crecieron sintiéndose “diferentes” pero sin realmente entender por qué. Además, nuestra cultura les enseña a las personas gays que no está bien ser lo que son, ocasionando que muchos se sientan inseguros internamente o sientan odio hacia si mismos. El hecho de que él/ella se los haya dicho significa que los está invitando a tener una relación más abierta y honesta.
