Even though horror is my favorite genre, fun and entertaining, i dont get scared anymore by it anymore.
Saying that, i thought Lake Mungo was quite unnerving, the scenes at the beach sent chills down my spine like nothing else i've seen.

When I was 9, I watched a TV movie called "Storm of the Century". The screenplay was written by Stephen King. I couldn't sleep in days. If I watch it now, it would probably make me laugh but at that age it was very scary.

                  the conjuring!

Yeah, this takes the cake for me. As others have mentioned, I don't really get scared, but viewing it from an outside point of view, it is scary.

I've always been an impossible-to-scare, totally jaded horror film watcher.  That being said, the Drew Barrymore scene from "Scream"  unnerved the living shit out of me.  Even though I watched it during the middle of the day, I had to shut it off, get the fuck out of my apartment, and go be around people for a while.

Strangely enough, that horrifying scene went on to be parodied by "Scary Movie", "Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday The Thirteenth", "MadTV", etc., etc., etc.

Don't Breathe is a recent horror film that impressed me by how scary it could be.  The director is great.  Plus Stephen Lang is a muscle daddy.

Difficult choice… I'll say that is between “The Omen” (1976) and “The Thing” (1982).

Gothika was the last and only film I ever screamed while watching, but that is largely because I mixed it up with Monster's Ball.
