American Horror Story. Which one is better?
-
S6 is very promising. I kinda like the documentary style but is the season called "My Roanoke Nightmare" or is that the title of the show in the show? Either way I think they should drop it because it's cheesy
-
Murder House was the best for me.

For me Roanoke was the worst they tried to twist it like a reality series but it was awful
-
The last few episodes of Roanoke were awful. The last episode was especially bad.
-

3. Freak Show. (5/10)
4. Coven. (4/10)
5. Roanoke. (3/10)
6. Hotel. (2/10) -
Murder House is the most coherent and generally best in terms of production and consistency, probably because they had to try harder since it was the first season.
Coven was fun enough but really inconsistent, and it ended stupidly and exceptionally poorly. I just omit the last couple of episodes whenever I watch it; it was really clear the writers had no idea what they were doing and just forgot a bunch of things they whipped up in the last couple of episodes. Fun premise, disappointing attempt at realization.
Freak Show was interesting but didn't ultimately pay off. It puttered around too much and got rid of one of its most interesting antagonists too early on, then never recovered. The ultimate ending was okay in some cases but painfully awful in others.
I never got into Asylum. It was chaotic and incoherent, and the writing was just not very good. It had no idea what it wanted to do.
Hotel was just…the worst. So awful. Embarrassing and puerile. Lady Gaga was just the absolute worst in the history of the show, and it hasn't improved since then.
Coven is probably the most "mainstream", definitely the most popular and immediately accessible, but prepare to be disappointed and, at times, offended by its hamfisted handling of problems like racism that are far too complex for the writers to deal with.

Coven is far the best, and Hotel is the least in my favorites list.
-
My Top-3: ;D
1. Season 2 - Asylum
2. Season 4 - Freak Show
3. Season 6 - Roanoke -
Every season is amazing!
-
Not seen Roanoke.
Abandoned Hotel.
Loved Murder House.
Loved Asylum (minus the whole aliens bit).
Loved Coven (Kathy Bates and Frances Conroy were brilliant).
Enjoyed Freakshow (especially Finn Whitrock's bare ass scenes, but the story wasn't as great as the first three series). -
There is no "better" season. Each season is its own theme and genre, so we'd really be comparing apples to oranges.
Myself, I loved Hotel. The characterizations and all the complex relationships sold the story.
Freakshow, I love the fx Sara Paulson and how they made normal people the real freaks without being overly preachy.
Rowanoak is the only season to ever frighten me. How they put it together was brilliant.
Still, I love the comedy in Coven but I can not forgive what they did to Misty Day.
And on and on I could go, no one favorite.

I think there should be a criteria for every season whether it was good on one aspect or not.
Murder House
Asylum
Coven
Freak Show
Hotel
Roanoke

For me it's story and characters, which is why Hotel and Freakshow are at the top of my list. I loved the universe building in Coven. Cult was uneven, IMO, but it's a perfect snapshot of today. As each episode rolled out paralles were happening in real life. The Vegas shooting happened a few days before their version of a mass shooting aired but Cult definitly has the most satisfying ending in the series.
