      I love Eurovision, and I cheered along with everyone else when Conchita Wurst won. I preferred Sweden's song Undo though. But at least Rise Like a Pheonix was in my top 3. I still remember when Azerbaijan won and I was like "really?! With that song?.

        From Conchita's wiki page:

        he uses female pronouns to describe his Wurst character, but male pronouns when referring to himself

        One of these days even he will get confused…

        Don't get me wrong, I am all for being who/what you feel like, but I am not sure English language can take it...

                @ninjapow:

                first there's no need to be a dick and call a trans person a thing, let's be respectful to all the branches in the LGBT community.
                disregarding your poor choice of words to comment the news, I'm glad more people from the gay community are breaking their way through the mainstream scene, let's take her example and face the world withe the head held high, proud of what we are.

                  I didn't really follow the contest, but I was impressed how feminine she looks even with a full beard.

                      @YORCH32:

                      So i heard this girl,boy,thing won the Eurovision song contest with the song "Rise like a phoenix"

                      i guess is good news the recoinassance people gives. What's your opinion?

                      Since I was asked for my opinion I will share it.  I am surprised this kind of language was tolerated & the excuse offered up as an apology just made it worse.  Really I expect this when I am at redneckers.com but at a gay forum I am wondering why it hasn't been removed.

                      Eurovision is something I've never understood.  I have read up on it and still left wondering what the fuss is.  I suppose it's just my new world mentality.
