It should be noted that the greater your upload and download totals are, the more data it takes to make a noticeable difference in the ratio in terms of the actual number. This is even more the case if there is a large difference between the two numbers.
In my case, trying to get my ratio back above 8.000 is proving to take more time than I expected, but this is largely because of the fact that my upload and download totals are both well into the range of being calculated in TB rather than GB, and my download buffer is more than 4 TB. So because of this, even though I have a faster speed now than I once did, it's still taking a surprising amount of time to notice the difference.
The speed of your internet connection will also play a huge role in how long it will take to notice the difference. IF you're only uploading in KB/s, it will take a lot longer than if you're transferring in MB/s. Again, this is most especially true if your download and upload totals are rather large, and even more especially if you have a rather large difference between the two numbers.
