What is "Bonus" and what is it good for?

If you had looked in the FAQ section you would have seen this:

I know there is a lot of information on this site, but I don't think there are very many questions that are not covered in the "Rules", "Forum" (Especially the "Guides and How To's") and "FAQ" that are not covered.

I think you can learn a lot from these sections that will help you, not only on this site, but in many cases, give you a better understanding of Torrents on other sites as well. You might know a lot about torrents, so you may not get a lot of new "info" from this site, but if you scan these 3 segments of this site, you will know what we expect from members as well of special things like our 'Bonus".

I read the FAQ about "Bonus" and understand how I get it.  What I don't understand is what do I do with it?  What do I exchange it for?  I think I read that I can exchange my Bonus for a better ratio.  I have a great ratio don't I.  What would be the advantage to me to make it even better?

The bonus is really about encouraging people to keep seeding and helping those with slow internet speeds.

I thought the "Ratio" was to encourage seeding.  If your ratio goes down to some predetermined level ones ability
to download is throttled or curtailed.  How does me having a big bonus help people with slow connections?  My question about
what my bonus can buy is still unanswered.

The ratio is the main part of the system.

The bonus can be traded to get GBs to add to your upload amount, thus improving your ratio.

You are correct but as raphjd stated, the bonus is to encourage people to keep seeding.
It encourages users, who do find the bonus useful, to aid in keeping torrents from dying.
Bonus also helps users with slow upload connections maintain their ratio's.

Bonus points are exchanged for GB added to your upload traffic.
There would be no advantage for you to use the bonus if you're not having ratio problems.
You do have a nice ratio.
