How to improve your Ratio
-
All but 1 of the files you have downloaded currently have leechers trying to get the files you have. You could be seeding them now to improve your ratio.
Make sure you enable Encryption and disable DHT and Peer Exchange in your client. If your client has a Speed Guide, use that to help make your settings.

I am using BitComet, and I would like to improve my ratio. I keep the file after I've completed it to seed, but it's really slow. It's only between 1-5kb/s. A lot of the time it disconnects. What exactly do I do?

With the 7 files you have, you should find plenty of people to seed too as there are plenty of leechers for those files.
Check your speed settings and make sure you aren't running too many files at once as this causes your client and computer to work more than they should.
Also check your firewall and/or router settings as this is a very common issue. Make sure they are allowing your client to fully access the internet in both directions.
Make sure your anti virus program is set to accept your client as well.

If you have any problems with configuring BitComet, I'd recommend checking its forum: hppp://forums.bitcomet.com/

I'm not sure why, but I can't seem to get by ratio UP!
I'm new to this group, and the first torrent I selected had just ME and the seeder. That may be why I started out with almost no uploads. There was no one else to upload TO. It was also a very slow file. After 4-5 days, my software was still telling me that I had 4-5 DAYS to go, and it was only a 600 Mg file! Most of the time, my download was less than 1 bit/s. Perhaps the seeder had a very slow connection. I don't know why that file was soooo slow. In any case, since I was the only leecher, I couldn't build my ratio at all, I guess. (??)
When I realized that it was slow and I wasn't building my uipload ratio, I decided to chose a few files that had LOTS of activity, both with seeders and leechers. I chose two files, but for some reason, my upload still didn't increase very much.
Then, today, all my downloads stopped, and I got an error message that indicated that I had too many torrents. After all the frustration, I gave up and deleted the torrents and the data files. I decided to just give up on this torrrent group and delete all my torrents. But then I decided to go onto this website and at least try to figure out what to do to fix the problem. However, now, I have no files, no torrent data, and a bad ratio!
What to do?

I'm not going to answer your post in the same order you wrote it in.
Depending on your ratio, you get varying number of active torrents. See link below;

Your ratio isn't that bad. It can easily be fixed by some smart downloading.
Because you deleted everything, I can't see which files you were trying to get and see if they were good or not for you. Anyway, go to the front page and find a Twink, Hunk or Bareback {most popular categories} with only 1 seeder and many leechers, that you like. Any category will do, but the above will give the best results.
Rarely will your ratio improve while you are downloading, since download speeds are always a lot faster than upload speeds. The key is to upload as much as you can while you download, then seeding after the downloading has finished.
The reason that the original file was so slow is complicated. Most likely the seeder was seeding several other files as well. This spread out his bandwidth too much.

I am new here. I'm having lots of trouble trying to upload and seed besides I just switch from pc to mac And I am still learning how to upload and seed using a mac but for now I would like to fix my radio,, can I just donate and that will fix my ratio??
-
Depends on how much you donate.

Rules etc here: http://tracker.gaytor.rent/donate.php -
There is a torrent at 99.9%. I have software to view it but since it is not complete-it won't convert over to strict seeding. I am very new to this and need to know what I should do as this is lowering my ratio.
-
You don't have to do anything really, just keep the client open and you should gain upload from that torrent too.

It doesn't have to be in seed mode for you to get credits. Just sending data to other users is enough.
We don't work like Demonoid, where you only get credits after you have finished downloading. This type of system sucks and will never be used here.

If you lose your download rights is the only way to get them back to donate? I've tried to upload a new vid but I can't seed it because it's only 99.8% complete apparently… And I've deleted all my others...
-
Something went wrong with the torrent at some point. It shouldn't be 99.8%.
-
Hmm ok… Will uploading a new one restore my dl rights then?
-
If you get past 0.35 in ratio, yes.
You are able to download your own uploaded torrents and the ones you've completed. -
Right I'll try to do a new one… Sorry for being such a noob lol

-
Another question sorry. How can I upload a completed file if I don't have the torrent file anymore? and I can't start the download again because my rights are disabled
-
As I said; you should be able to re-download the torrent-files for the movies that you've already completed.
-
ok thanks
