Egoistic Behaviour

it just my idea, how about before they can download, they have to upload a movie first.
i get this rules from another torrent web.it like this, when they upload or seed 1 MB, they can download 1.5 MB or 2 MB, depend on the web rules. so when they need to download 1 GB (for most of the movie) at least they have to upload 500 MB.

This is a good idea Sellange.
A new member must first upload a minimum set amount of Kb's, or Gb's, then seed that amount to a 1:1 ratio at which point their torrent client is given access to downloading.
After that, their downlaod ability would be dependent on keeping their ratios proportional much as it is now. Implementation of this could pose a significant programming challenge to Admin. !! -
you forgot one little thing: most of the people here can be happy if they know how to download… uploading is horrible... they aren't able (or they won't be) to upload...
there are some people out...... they put there file into utorrent and think that they are uploading.... really.... no joke..
-
The way I look at it is if you take…seed. If you have a ratio of less than 1.0....goodbye.
Just my take.

I can understand why you say that. Here's the problem – especially on a small (but growing) torrent site like this one:
1. Johnny NewUser joins the board and downloads a file with 4 Seeders and 0 Leechers.
2. Download completes. Since there were No Leechers, Johnny NewUser did not upload anything. He innocently has a ratio of 0.00.
It would be nice if the software could prevent a user from joining swarms with 0 Leechers unless they already have a ratio over x.xx.

but then our new Seed-Bonus help out… if nobody leeches, and you keep it online longer you get your credz for it definatly......!!

I think Tom has a great response to that question. As long as the person is seeding, they get credit. It's just taht most people just take what they want, then run and that's wrong!! I am on other torrent sites and if you have a ratio lower than 1.0 after a given amount of time, it's goodbye and I really have no problem with that attitude here as well.

As a fairly new user i agree with a ratio, other sites have a minimum. I was away for a while ( PC crashed), I just logged on to noticed I received credit for seeding. WOW. nice incentive.

most torrent sites have a ratio of 0.600 and gives you a 24hours to up the ratio if is down…
I don't have any problem of seeding... but my Internet conection goes many times down.Don't worry if you kick or ban one guy just because he doesn't seed... That call share... and we all like porn gay movies
the most the better
:thankyou: for this torrent site... now I have more film to my collection

Hi @ all
If we all give our best, we'll be able to replace the upload of der Hit & Runners, also if it's not the sense of BitTorrent…

I really like the stuff and in my humble opinion it's no problem, to seed the vids some days...

yes.. you dont need to donate… also seeding your downloads or sometimes an upload is good support...
i hate the "hit and runners"....
Might I suggest a hit and run system similar to the one I have seen rolled out over at IPTorrents. When you download a file, you must do one of the following:
- Seed the torrent for at least 14 days
- Seed the torrent until you have reached a 1:1 ratio
- Zap the torrent in the hit and run system
If you choose to zap the torrent, you have one of two options.
-
Sacrifice a set number of SBP (I think it's 50 SBP per zap)
-
Sacrifice upload credit equal to the amount of the torrent
Also, it should be noted that with this system, if you build up too many hit and runs without dealing with them, your download rights get taken until you fix the problem. As long as you are seeding the torrent, the system does not bug you about the hit and run. It only shows up in the system when you are not seeding the torrent, and continuing to seed the torrent makes it disappear out of the system again. Once you seed it for 14 days or to a 1:1 ratio, or zap the torrent, it falls off your hit and runs permanently.
Perhaps we should roll out a similar system?
