D/l freeleech to build a good ratio but now my ratio is destroyed

Just downloading stuff from the freeleech category, building good ratio,
I come back after a few hours and my ratio is at 0.024.
I basically have no way to fix this in the 7 days grace period.
I got hit for 13.89 GB of downloads, which sucks because I'm only D/L stuff for ratio, I don't even want these files -
I found the torrent which screwed me

any chance the freeleech ended while I was downloading?

Free leech has a fixed amount of time from when it was originally made free leech, not from when you download the torrent file.

Yeah, during the Christmas Freeleech (which was great BTW) I had two files which didn't finish loading until 3 DAYS after the freeleech ended.
And why-oh-why would you download any files, much less an enormous file, of stuff you don't want?
