Unregistered Torrents (What a waste of space, bandwidth & ratio)

I have been downloading from the site since years now. Recently I have noticed a lot of torrents getting Failure: unregistered torrent in the tracker status. I download big torrents for seeding on the website. I recently downloaded a 12 GB torrent only to help/seed other users and now 2 days later that torrent is an unregistered torrent.
I know all about the DCMA or the banned content but us users suffer in the form of losing hard disk space for the downloaded torrents and our upload/download ratio getting a serious hit too. I personally think that bigger torrents are downloaded (and are being seeded and they get somehow deleted from the website for any reason) should get some upload credit to the user to be fair. We seeders also make time and put in effort to help out the tracker. The rest is up to the mods. Thanks.
