Jury retaliation can be a crime in Massachusetts, but publicly identifying a juror is not automatically criminal.

Therefore, simply repeating publicly available information, particularly in legitimate reporting after a trial, is not necessarily a crime. The key issues would be the purpose, wording, context, targeting, timing, and likely consequences of the disclosure.
Other possible issues include:
Contempt of court, if a judge issued an order restricting contact, recording, disclosure, or harassment;
Criminal harassment or stalking, if the conduct involves repeated or threatening behavior;
Threats, extortion, or property-related offenses, depending on what was communicated or done.In the Lindsay Clancy case, Plymouth Superior Court Judge William Sullivan ordered the list identifying the empaneled jurors to be impounded for two weeks, until September 18, 2026, unless the court extended or modified the order.
