      Story in 3 parts.

      1. El Salvador foreign agents law - key bit.

      https://cpj.org/2025/05/salvadoran-congress-approves-foreign-agents-law-that-threatens-press-freedom/

the [new] law mandates that any person or organization receiving funds from abroad register with the Ministry of Interior as a foreign agent. Those designated must pay a 30% tax on all foreign income and submit to extensive oversight, including sworn declarations. Violations of the law carry fines ranging from US$1,000 to US$150,000.

Mere disclosure. For violators, mere fines & taxes.

      Reasonable.

I'm big on Free Speech, but, Free Speech to benefit local citizens. Not foreign powers.

If El Salvador feels that CCP, CIA, EU & Soros can still run influence ops in El Salvador, except disclose them please.... ok.

      1. EU lectures El Salvador.

      https://x.com/eu_eeas/status/1931413894473372071

[hey, ] El Salvador: The EU regrets the adoption of the Foreign Agents Law, which risks restricting civil society and runs counter to international obligations. Recent arrests of human rights defenders raise further concerns.

      HAHAHAhahahaha clowns

      1. El Salvador lectures back.

      https://x.com/nayibbukele/status/1931467426790580472

[hey, ] EU: El Salvador regrets that a bloc which is aging, overregulated, energy-dependent, tech-lagging, and led by unelected bureaucrats still insists on lecturing the rest of the world.

      🤣
