Since I first started watching porn, I have noticed that females often take a load of cum in their mouths and swallow as if it was candy - whereas males open their mouths, but very rarely does much if any cum get into their mouths, and when it does, they often spit it out.

I wonder why this is. I have a theory about it. I don't think anybody knows why females do what they do, so I will not speculate on why they eat cum. However, with males, I notice that some males eat their OWN cum, perhaps thinking they are getting a testosterone boost by doing that. In my case, I like to see OTHER guys taking cum in their mouths in videos, but I would not want anybody's cum in my mouth EXCEPT for that of my best friend. The reason for that is I want to have as much of an interaction with my friend as possible, and the ultimate in that is to injest his cum.

I understand your assessment, but I mostly disagree with you. In my case, I don't need a connection with the person to swallow cum. I just love it. What I do however require to swallowing cum is basic level of visual attraction to the guy.
As for straight porn, I would argue that gay porn is vanilla relative to straight porn, so the expectations from the girls are requiring them to be kinkier and be more willing to perform certain things, if that makes sense... I would also argue that straight guys love to watch a woman swallow cum.
