Kamala's home state of California overwhelmingly rejected ending taxing tips, which is a policy thieving Kamala stole from Trump.
Here is one thing I fully agree with the loser Dems in California's state Congress. ALL income must be taxed to have any sort of equality.
Why should a guy who works for a hand car wash have to pay taxes on ALL of his income, but a guy who waits tables only has to pay taxes (LOL) on the $2.13 Federal cash wage for tipped staff.
Assuming both guys only make Federal minimum wage ($7.25 vs $2.13 as of 1 July 2024) is a massive difference. Tipped staff can make a fortune in tips. Back in the early 90s, my then-boyfriend made over $20 an hour via tips. Sure, he worked in a posh restaurant but still. If he didn't have to pay taxes on that, it would be completely unfair to those who were cash wage workers (not tip workers under federal law).
