According to The Hill, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the United Democracy Project (UDP), AIPAC’s super PAC, spent approximately $9 million to defeat the radical activist. Bush was also heavily criticized for being one of the spokespeople for the defund the police movement and then spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on private security.
Bush was under investigation by the Department of Justice for alleged misuse of federal funds for private security. Bush also referred to herself as "birthing person" in congressional testimony about maternal mortality rates.
