Why are their so many new scenes in the dead zone?

A lot of uploads go into the dead zone, and have never gone live.
Before my upload rights were taken away, my uploads always had to be manually activated. I wonder how many new uploaders are aware of that trick?

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
