@raphjd yet those cannot surpass the number of wasp mass shootings, it does tell you something does it not? Also stop trying to pass anedoctic events as if they are representations of all reality, plenty of shootings went down in white hoods in the same day.

By comparison, the perpetrator was African American in 25 mass shootings, and Latino in 11. When calculated as percentages, this amounts to 52 percent, 17 percent, and seven percent respectively.Whites did less than their portion of the US population.
Blacks did more than their portion of the US population.

I am concerned that the link provided by @myrea says that there have been only 142 mass shootings in the last 41 years. It seems that they are not counting all of the mass shootings.

@raphjd I think it might depend on how you categorize a mass shooting. To my mind there is a difference between someone going postal at work, gunning people down at a family reunion, walking into a school or public space and just randomly killing strangers, and targeting a particular race/religion/sexuality. They might be lumped together statistically, but I think the motivation is entirely different. In any case, when race is a factor, it seems the victims are usually minorities.
My original stats were also incorrect because apparently most of the deadliest shootings since 2018 were committed by perps under 21 years old.
Regardless, as long as crazy people have access to military weapons, I don't think anything is going to change.

I need to clarify this.
Whites in the 20 - 40yo age range are 4 times that of blacks but don't do 4 times the mass shootings of blacks.
In order to be equal on a per capita basis, whites would need to do 68% of the mass shootings, not 52% as the other chart shows. That means whites only do 75% ish of the mass shootings that blacks do, in the same age range.

Re: mass shooters, it's also known that most of them are on drugs, SSRIs - outpatient legal psychiatric treatment. The drugs either don't help, or make them worse.

They have a specific criteria of mass shooting, I think. I believe it was 3+ victims. But it's government, they play around with stats. Like during covid, they were putting covid in the death certificates even if a person died due to a vehicular accident. But tested positive for covid postmortem.
However, in terms of homicide. Black people are the majority culprit.

they do 53% of homicides. This was in 2021. I think in 2022, the number was 54%. For a population less than 15% of USA, that's quite a feat.
