      WASHINGTON — Matt Schlapp, one of the nation’s most prominent conservative leaders and a top ally of former President Donald Trump, is being accused of sexually groping a male aide on Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s campaign in October.

      "He reached in between my legs and fondled me," the former Walker staffer told NBC News in a telephone interview Thursday night. "To my shame, I didn’t say anything" to stop Schlapp. NBC News is withholding the staffer’s name at his request because he fears the allegations against a powerful Republican could harm his own career in GOP politics.

        @Drwas

        It's strange that a former GOP staffer would run to leftist NBC with this story.

        It's also not surprising that it's yet another story with an anonymous source against the GOP.

          Anonymous = prob fake.

          If true: Recourses & remedies exist, ask Don Lemon.

          FAR more important crimes are happening that you @Drwas pretend not to see.

            @Drwas ACCUSER APOLOGIZES - so yes it was always fake.

            To his credit, he dropped anonymity.

            Then said he'd misunderstood things. Stated in particular that Schlapps did not settle ie. did not pay him a cent.

            “I am discontinuing all of my lawsuits. The claims made in my lawsuits were the result of a complete misunderstanding, and I regret that the lawsuit caused pain to the Schlapp family,” Huffman said. “...Neither the Schlapps nor the [American Conservative Union] paid me anything to dismiss my claims against them.”

            After making his claims against Schlapp, two women accused Huffman of assault.

              @blablarg18 I like the clever wording of the statement. It is technically true that the accuser received no money from Schlapp or the ACU, because he was paid off by an insurance carrier.

              The $480,000 settlement was paid to Carlton Huffman through an insurance policy, according to a source familiar with the details.

                  @hubrys

                  "multiple sources familiar with the case told CNN."

                  "according to a source familiar with the details."

                  "But multiple sources familiar with the allegations and legal proceedings told CNN"

                  "A former official on the Walker campaign"

                  A lot of room for CNN to make up everything and blame it on "sources".

                    @hubrys Ah, so it was an insurance grift.

                    And because insurance company paid the grift - as they often do - and because you NEED conservatives to always be guilty no matter what, you will 100% continue in your retarded lib beliefs about this trivial sideshow. Gotcha. 🙄 (as if I'd hoped otherwise - or even needed to be told 🙄 )
