The use of the word "boy".
-
"Boys' night out" is a common phrase that has nothing to do with male children.
"It's your boy, (insert name here)" is a common opening on social media videos by adult males.
-
He's my boy.
That's my boy.Words I use to refer to my son and he's 33 but looks 23.
-
I'm 55 and my husband is 58.
Every week or 2 we go to a local traditional British cafe and the ladies there refer to us as boys; "how are you boys doing today", "the usual for you boys", etc.
-
@raphjd Right! There you go. Great example of how the word boy or boys can be used expressively undescriptive of ones age.

this just reminded me of that song 'the boys are back in town' by thin lizzy lmao

" oh boy " ... how about, Boy George or Backstreet Boys

-
I think the author of this topic is not referring to the use of "boy" in general but in gay porn like the title Bring me a Boy.
@yepyep7891, if you are not comfortable, then just skipped torrent titles with boy in it.

I talked a lot but at the end of the day the guy just asked a simple question and nobody answered it, the answer is just yes it is acceptable.
-
Indeed. These are all examples that have nothing to do with the word usage I am referring to, for example a father calling his children, no matter how old they are, "his boys" or the question "how are you boys doing?". We are talking about porn here and the description of male actors to make clear how young they are. It is this context that I am referring to. It has everything to do with age.

@kalayaan Why can't I edit my posts? At least for a short periode or for as long as no one posted after me....
-
@ianfontinell There is nothing wrong with it legally. And in that sense it's completely acceptable. But I can't help it, "Bring me a boy" sounds so weird, wrong.
"Young teen boy"... legally nothing wrong with this title as well, but I find it extremely questionable.

@yepyep7891 yeah I get it but I think that's precisely the point, this not something you're making up, but for as problematic (and cringe most of the times) what could one ever do? You can say it's dubious to some extent, but can't even get too aggressive on that because then you're also implying furries are all zoophiles and bdsm is domestic violence. For as uncomfortable as it might sound the best we can do is let it be. An adult pretending to be a child might sound problematic but it's nothing compared to how the mass media does the exact opposite of that and gets away with it just fine.
