When exactly will my ratio be deducted ?

I will have a problem asking this without the use of pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words.

My question is when exactly will by ratio be deducted after I start to download a torrent. Please ignore the fact the torrent is a free leech in my example pictures.

Will be ratio be deducted after I hit the download button from the torrent page ?

The reason I ask is because I want to know when I can still change my mind and stop downloading and not have my ratio deducted.

Sometimes we only download some parts not the whole thing and we skip the rest…
[Only partial parts that being downloaded will count against the RATIO]
Torrent downloaded without fully downloading the files will only count as downloaded…
