UTorrent: How to Downgrade OR Fresh Install "Classic Version" 2.2.1 build 25302
-
YES, and 2.2.1 have status tabs that will tell you ALL OF THIS INFORMATION at a glance {numerically} :cheesy2:
-
Yes but I'm use to seeing the green graph moving:)
One question, any idea how to fix the "disk overload" issue? It kept popping up and running my HD at 100%. I watched a youtube vid that suggested to go into preferences/advanced/disk cache and change "override automatic cache size and specify the size manually (MB)" from the default number (and I don't remember what that number was now) to 1700, that seems to have fixed my issue but was wondering if that was legit or not?
I'm going to work out, will check back later.
Thanks as always for your prompt replies

Sorry, I haven't had that problem, so haven't had to deal with that, myself.
If you can find that youtube video again…??? please post the link here, I'd like to see that, and the advice there, was probably sound.
Take care,

I've always meant to ask…when you downgrade to 2.2.1, do you need to go into your router settings and setup port forwarding? Because in the past you had to do that or you would never get a "green" check mark in uTorrent showing you were connected correctly. Mine constantly goes back and forth between yellow and green but yet everything seems to work as needed.

You should note the port number you used in the later version of uTorrent… and use the same number in the Classic version.
Have a look at this forum topic: "Default uTorrent Settings --RECOMMENDATIONS--"
https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=54329.0There are instructions within.,.. that deal with port forwarding.

Hi Pawpcorn,
I followed the guidance exactly to downgrade and it looked fine, but after this when I uploaded a new video via QuickTorrrentMaker, I got a message saying "An older version is running…". At that time I was not sure what that meant so I didn't care. Then the next day when I turned on my computer and started uTorrent again, it's back to the latest version surprisingly cos I did uncheck "Check for Updates Automatically" right after the downgrade installation.
Today, I wanna give it another try so I re-did the downgrade process again, and after which frustratingly still I got the same message right after using QuickTorrrentMaker to upload a new video. I don't know why this keeps happening.
Really hope I can stick to this classic version once for all instead of downgrading it each time I use uTorrent.
I guess is it because of QuickTorrrentMaker, meaning I have to re-install QuickTorrrentMaker again right after uTorrent downgrade so as to succeed?
Thanks a lot! -
it sounds to me like your QTM has an old location for the uTorrent.exe program.
please uninstall QTM, and reinstall it, correctly pointing it to the new (classic) utorrent.exe program location on your hard drive, as per:

Hey Pawpcorn,
I've been using 2.2.1 since I guess last year (when I became a member of this site and after reading your guide about downgrading to 2.2.1), I have a question for you, though you may not know the answer but I'm curious if you do.
In uTorrent, if you go to OPTIONS/SETUP GUIDE, it lets you run a bandwidth test to allow uTorrent to set you upload speed according to your internet connection, then it has a network test to make sure your network is configured properly. Every time I have run this test it has worked without issues, today for some reason when I click on "RUN TESTS", it freezes and won't respond and I have to close out uTorrent and reopen it back up. Once back in the setting for the tests, if I uncheck the bandwidth test, the network tests works fine and gives me a thumbs up that all is well. For some reason though, the bandwidth test is freezing all of a sudden and will not work.
Any ideas? My torrents are working fine so I'm not sure what the issue is.

How necessary is it to install classic version…? Is it just that the old version doesnt have ads?
So is it just personal preference....does the version affect speed or anything like that? -
Hello, I recently installed this version of UTorrent because the new one kept crashing on me. It's working great, except that I can't get it to load this torrent: https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=d568747808aa274f3e1d27fc41a1c5a3e195d0ad6ddddf85
I already have the files for that torrent downloaded, I just want to get the torrent loaded in my client so that I can seed it. When I attempt to open the file in uTorrent 2.2.1 it says that it's not a valid torrent file.

@buggy411
YES, same happened to me.I think THIS SIZE:
1.21 TB (1,331,722,772,463 bytes)and/or this number of FILES:
Num files: 2099 file...must exceed the design of uTorrent Classic.
