John's choices are gay cinematic masterpieces.  But I have to say, if you want some bawdy laughs and campy fun, you can't do much better than Girls Will Be Girls (2003).

Just Friends (Gewoon Vrienden) totally, it has it all – romantic love story without any tragedy + the soundtrack and the songs chosen are amazing. It's really something, US gay cinema is missing.

Has to Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The entire message of that film really resonated with me.

There are probably other movies that are objectively better, but because it is one of the first ones I watched Come Undone (Presque Rien) really left an impression on me.

The Wedding Banquet (1993) is one of my favourites. Exploring lots of taboos in the early 90s in a multiracial context and East Asian cultural complications.
