The left loves these stories, as it proves them right about the evil right. Once the truth comes out, they drop the story and never mention it again because they already got their "evil right" narrative out there.
Oddly, with Jussie Smollett, there's still a lot of liberals defending him. Some are calling him a hero for trying to expose the evil right, even if it was a hoax.
I hate hoaxes because it can destroy real lives of people falsely accused of the crimes. That for example Jackie @ UVA. The "just believe" crowd did $25,000 damage to the frat house based on lies. The university refused to protect the students and fraternity, then refused to pay for the damages when they were proven innocent. The frat was banned from classes while the shit was going on and even once they were proven innocent, there was still a push to expell them because something like that might happen and to make an example out of them.
