First openly gay US presidential candidate (from a major party)

Pete Buttigieg, Mayor of South Bend, Ind., Joins Democratic 2020 Race. What's interesting is that he doesn't want to be running on the platform of potentially being the first gay president, but on the platform of being the first millennial president. Which is probably a much better strategy, honestly, and helps normalize being gay and shows it isn't/shouldn't be a big deal.

If we want to be thought of as "mainstream" and normal, then we need to stop being all about GAY.
We need to stop wearing assless chaps in public and getting fisted in the streets. It's crap like this that is the reason many still hate us.
