PrEP means Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, and it’s the use of anti-HIV medications to keep HIV negative people from becoming infected. PrEP is approved by the FDA and has been shown to be safe and effective at preventing HIV infection.
You can cheek a lt of info here: http://www.whatisprep.org/.
In my opinion is's only for monogamic couple, where one person is infected.

Well dont agree here. in my country it's specially for gays who have lots of unsafe sex with many different partners and it's prescribed as a way to avoid condoms. it's of course " free" here ( though it cost our society about 200 euros for 30 pills). But to get it you need to have lots of appointments even with shrinks and finally when you meet all the criteria you get it. Then the prescription can be refilled by regular doc.

wear condoms still. it prevents HIV not other STI
