As is typical of the far right condition, form an opinion or ideology based on no evidence. Claim everyone else disagrees with you and then make it a political issue claiming their fantasy position is playing "identity politics", or being "politically correct."
"Just believe", means that a person can't make a judgement on another person's experiences and identity because they have no access to the facts of their experience so it is a waste of time doubting or even forming an opinion on the truth of what they say. The time (and money) is better spent focussing on the person's actual behaviour and the effects of it.

Its true to say that those who are interested in feelings rather than facts are responsible for these kind of phenomena. Some examples:
1. People can self identify whatever gender they please regardless of biology. I have empathy for genuine trans people, but this is a nasty biological trick that's been played on them, or perhaps psychological factors are at play as well.
2. We should have rights based on our level of 'grievance'
3. The President is literate
And so on.
Interestingly in Mohammedanism, their prophet was specifically told to deflower a pre-teen. Interestingly also, a lot of progressives seem to defend anything negative that isn't perpetrated by white males
