I really loved Mabinogi, and it had some features that were so far ahead of its time. Unfortunately, it hasn't exactly aged well due to powercreep and its significantly smaller playerbase. Plus anime communities tend to be toxic…so yeah. I swore I'd be done with anime mmorpgs in general.
Nowadays, I trounce about Warframe for all the sci-fi wizardry and ridiculous parkour. The game can't decide what it want to be, but in exchange, you got a pretty solid stock of diversified content.

I really liked Final Fantasy 14. Aesthetically, it was top tier; the character creator was fantastic with tons of customization options and the maps and dungeons were beautifully designed. The outfit options were also fantastic. It just has the same shortcoming as every other MMO - once you get to endgame, you just keep grinding the same couple dungeons over and over with little else to do

My favourite MMORPG is Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. It was shut down in 2013, but now there is an unofficial server that is created by enthusiasts. Waiting for Camelot Unchained release.

I know you're probably asking for 1 but I'll offer 3.
Oldest for me: Ragnarok Online - The sprites and such are cute, you should probably play on a private server though
Aesthetics: Blade and Soul, also FF14 ARR
B&S b/c of the cute males (Jin) you can make and then the simply cutesy Lyn
FF14 ARR because I've always loved the concept of playing as a cat-folk character (Miqo'te). -
I'm having a lot of fun with Star Trek Online, it's free to play and you can microtransaction to buy stuff if you want (or sell energy credits you earn through playthough) to get bigger ships n stuff

Hands down FF14, they have the whole idea of MMORPG down to a science

Kingdom Come Deliverance is great.
SJWs hate it because it's historically correct and not artificially "diverse".

Diablo 3 is the one I've sunk the most time into out of any others…
