I am listening to Dreaming in Colour by Art of Noise. From their conceptual album The Seduction of Claude Debussy (1999), which merges the work of Claude Debussy with alt-everything, rap, and various electronica. A sonic landmark (imho, of course).

This sound entranced me in the 1990s and found international acclaim. You'll note similar music in the soundtrack of Ghost in the Shell and many, many other films. Tender vocals one moment, jarring the next, spiritual and eerie. Play in a dark room, with candles, smoking pot is optional.
