I hate the music most gays like.

I hate anything techno. I hate boybands. I hate Brittney, Christina Aguelira.

I like Classic Rock, alternative, indie, motown and some R&B. Not a fan of rap, country, gospel or christian rock either. And I don't like the 80's. I like 70's and 90's but not 80's.

I'm an indie/alternative type of guy or anything with a "unique sound" I have to agree with the person who said they hate most music gays like. I'm not really a fan of Brittney or Madonna at all. I think I've only ever liked one Madonna song she's dropped in this past decade. And Britney is very… hit or miss. I think the only singer I listen to that a lot of gay guys like would be Lana Del Rey.

Depends on the mood really - sometimes I prefer stuff like the XX, Knife, Lykke Li, IAMX, etc. but sometimes I prefer some Monstercat releases.

If it is good music, I like it regardless of genre or classification. If it is some wannabe-celebrity trying to make a name for themselves, I'd rather not.

I dont subscribe to any specific genre. I stick to either entire discographies of specific artists or any one song that sounds good to me.

There are of course some genres that never appealed to me like hip-hop/rap (dont know the difference, sorry), most metal genres, reggae.

I have a lot of genres:  Baroque, Late Romantic/Nationalist classical music, Ju-Ju, Mizrachiya, most types of Punk, 90s Alternative, most types of Metal, Klezmer, Swing, and some 80s New Wave (Especially Deutsche Neue Welle).

I feel the same way about pop and disco that most gay men feel about Death Metal.  It is painful to listen to the auto-tuning and click tracks.  I refer to it as a case of musical diabetes.

Mainly Classical - As the Late Great Kenny Everett used to say there is nothing like a bit of class.

I cannot live without Bach or Mozart. The Baroque, Classical periods are my favourites. Some Beethoven, Handel, Haydn, Schubert, Vivaldi, Scarlatti and so on. I like some 20th Century Music; most 19th Century music I detest.

I love pop from the 60's 70's 80's and early 90's. Europ pop from that period too.

                                  Today's popular music I dislike.

I think most people don't try to listen to Classical music.

If you listen to Beethoven you'll learn all there is about Beethoven
If you listen to Bach you'll learn all there is about God.
If you listen to Mozart, you'll learn all there is about Humanity.

Lovely quote. I wish I knew who said it.

I like a lot of the Baroque and a lot of the 20th century Russian composers.  I'm not as fond of pure Classical or Romantic composers.

I'm hopeful that there's a new generation of artists learning their craft through Youtube.  The music industry can give us Boyband after Boyband but it takes years of work and experimentation to develop someone like a David Bowie.

Is Homo Emo the same as Queercore?  ie. Pansy Division.

                                          I love Pansy Division.

Queercore (or homocore), is a cultural and social movement that began in the mid-1980s as an offshoot of punk. It is distinguished by its discontent with society in general, and specifically society's disapproval of the gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender communities.

That means Homo Emo is not the same as Queercore!
