It's related in that liberals tried using downvoting as a weapon. This is extremely clear when they don't even read what is posted, but downvote strictly due to who posted it.
When conservatives started doing the same with reputation, liberals got butt hurt.

Did I miss something? Did this board suddenly change into one focused on discussing reputation power, up-voting and down-voting. Who Cares? I guess we know who. I don't. Let's talk politics.
If you don't want to discuss politics and debate world issues, go to another board to show off your big green bars.

Starting today, I will message someone privately if I have a problem with the way they are behaving on here. We're talking at each other instead of with each other and that's not solving anything.

You are lumping a group of users together and assigning the behavior of one to the entire group. You are fond of that, not only with the users here, but with politics as well. Don Lemon and Symone Sanders say something you don't like, and all of CNN is liberal-biased crap. A handful of far-left extremists commit atrocities and now all liberals are "bike-lock liberals." Life is easy when you assign everyone into category boxes, because then you don't have to listen or think.
If you sincerely think that some users on this board have used downvoting as a weapon, then that is something that you should have put your police hat on :police: and dealt with. There is no reason to be discussing this publicly. It has only served to distract from discussing politics.

I did a little research on how Reputation Power is calculated. You are awarded points for new topics and replies, as well as Upvotes, downvotes and hearts. But the points awarded by voting is multiplied by the voter's reputation power. Since the "Team Liberal" has little to no reputation power, the only thing harmed by the downvoting is the user's ego.
Here is what Popper said back in 2014:
" Regarding the "heart" voting up/down by members influenced by the voter's power, it seems the number of reputation points gets increased/reduced by the voters reputation power (e.g. if I vote with a current power of 160, I'll add 160 points to the member who's post I voted to like, at least his power increases by 3)."https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=24387.msg114158#msg114158

And for some of us, it was a deliberate effort of users who disagreed with us clicking on the heart below our name and downgrading our reputation sometimes more than once within the same day to take away our reputation power. I've taken screenshots before of a user doing that to me, day by day and sometimes in the same day downgrading my reputation power. Meanwhile, they're increasing each other's reputation power ::)
This is the second time I've caught this kind of behavior.

Downvoting is like shooting oneself in the foot.. in that it ultimately identifies the person downvoting as being a troll and given a bright red line.

I didn't start this thread to whine about about reputation power, I started it to redirect the conversation back to politics. After I found out how the point system worked I argued for its boycott not out of protest, but to get those who are so pre-occupied with it out of our hair.
Moderator hat on or not, your use of the word clowns to describe us is insulting. Earlier today you called us loonies and addressed me as dearie when I misinterpreted one of your posts. Frederick continues to use "moonbats." While the pejoratives are mild, they are still demeaning. If you review "Team Liberal's" you will see that we do not engage in such behavior. And somehow. sutie's downvoting is a much worse crime!
Now, as moderator, you can never hope to clear this board of its pettiness until you stop indulging in it yourself. Lead by example.

That may have been before my time here. I certainly cannot remember any administrator posts to that effect except for one "tone it down." I have been participating in these threads because there is little else her right now.
In the past two days, I posted twice on Donald Trump Jr and the recent revelations about his meeting with a Russian lawyer. Frederick responded to one post, I replied, and it died there. The other was ignored completely. . Apparently everyone wants to indulge in petty shit. -
I didn't post as an admin because it's a function of the forums.
If I posted as an admin, then the liberals would have had a fit because I was stifling their "right" to downvote everything their enemies said.
