Angela Merkel has voted against same-sex marriage in Germany because she believes that "Marriage is between a man and woman".
Despite her opposition, the Bundestag voted to legalise equal marriage by 393 votes to 226, and the Chancellor said she hoped the move would improve social cohension.
"For me, marriage in German law is marriage between a man and a woman and that is why I did not vote in favour of this bill today," she told reporters moments after the historic vote.

They hate Trump who supports LGBTs, but love Merkel who hates LGBTs.
I guess this proves that the left doesn't care about LGBTs, but love muslims who we know hate LGBTs.

I'm a centralist and I don't think Merkel has a particular prejudice against the LGBT community. Her father was a Lutheran minister if I'm not mistaken and that undoubtedly shaped her view on marriage. While she feels that marriage is between a man and a woman (which she is entitled to believe) she felt that her beliefs shouldn't have to apply to the entire German population and that's why she put marriage equality to a free vote (as opposed to forcing her party to vote in line with her) where the members of her party could choose whether to allow gay marriage if they felt it to be what was right, which they did. That's just my personal view on the subject.

Believing that gays don't deserve equality, of any kind, is prejudice.
It was funny that for 30'ish years, in the UK, I couldn't get married but muslims could have 5 wives, despite the law banning bigamy and polygamy. Special rights for some, while denying equal rights to others.
