        This is a retraction of a study that showed that conservatives were psychotic, that you guys all used to say we were authoritarians. They did some further study and found that they were dead wrong, and that the opposite was True.

          @mhorndisk:

          This is a retraction of a study

          It wasn't a retraction, it was an [desc=A statement of an error and its correction released in a subsequent publication.]erratum[/desc]. The authors said that the erratum doesn't affect any of the original report's main conclusions that neither liberals nor conservatives were particularly likely to display traits of psychoticism. To the extent that liberals were more psychotic, this was no more related to their politics "than to their shirt size."

          "The results presented here do not support the assumption that personality traits are linked to political ideology, and we find no support for the idea that personality traits cause people to develop political attitudes."[nb]Brad Verhulst, Lindon J. Eaves, and Peter K. Hatemi (2011). "Correlation Not Causation: The Relationship Between Personality Traits and Political Ideologies" American Journal of Political Science 56 (1) p. 48, doi:10/djghdm.[/nb]

            Come on, anyone who can defend the likes of Elliot Cope, Riley Denis, Milo Stewart, Dakota and countless others have to be psychotic.

            Anyone who thinks their fighting the good fight, but need to cover their faces and use bike locks and empty wine bottles, then play the victim, is psychotic.

            Anyone who votes for or supports Maxine (Putin came up with "lock her up") Waters a lunatic.

              OOOOH! While that sounds SUPER smart of you, that "personality traits are not linked to political ideology, and no traits cause people to DEVELOP political attitudes." That means nothing.

              So what? So there are nihilists in both the democrat and republican party. There are MANY philosophies. The article pointed out that in their study, most liberals portray fascist traits. It is of course a study in politics, but your assertion is meaningless.

                Liberals do seem to be the mentally unstable types that tend to go crazy and psychotic

                    It's the report authors' assertion — not mine. To the extent that their assertion and report were both evidently meaningless to you, I have no doubt.
