I'm surprised a US porn star hasn't hit it big in Hollywood yet. There are a few that have done some movies and TV show but none of their careers really took off.
Tag Eriksson was a big gay porn star for a while and now is on Million Dollar Listing. He's not like a movie star, but the star of a very popular tv show.

I think he was about 18 when he started. But I would not use the terms "TV star" but rather a "temporary celebrity" as he is no longer invited to any shows. However, I was also fascinated by his body, I find his behaviour disgusting. He is actually not gay but did all this because of financial problems, like many other stars. Of course, first, he was denying that he was on cam with any boys but the obviously everything turned out. Actually, many of his videos with the other guys are faked (the dildo one especially, they were talking about how to imitate it so it seems to be real on camera). What would be fine but he really wants to proove that he is into women therefore he condescends them, treats them as they were his property, like posting selfies with his gf's ass and so forth.

which is ridiculous since those ultra conservatives are the ones having 10 children, meaning the have had plenty of sex themselves.

There are a few cases like this. I know Simon Rex did some porn before moving into TV, and Tomas Skoloudik did a bit of porn before moving across to fashion modelling (he's been really successful, doing ads for Armani and the like).

Simon Rex is really the only one that has been somewhat of a success after doing porn, then again, it ended up catching up to him and ruining opportunities for him too. Channing Tatum, while he didn't do any porno films, did legitimately strip for cash (and possibly did more). But he was at least smart enough with the help of a Hollywood director to turn his risque past into a profit. Doing porn can definitely kill a chance at a Hollywood career that's for sure :-.
