      and i'm loving it, personally. but also.. why do gay men (not all obviously) have this typical aspiration for others with short hair/undercut, some facial hair, decent body, etc etc like? omg! it's so frustrating honestly… i get too much sh*t for being "too fem" smh! also she's (me) a gay with long hair and loves make-up so hm.. thoughts? opinions? this post is all over the place but w/e.. forgive me!

          Honey, people will always have opinions about you, both positive and negative. But you can't let the negative ones get to you! That's their opinion. If they don't like it, why should you change? If you like the way you look, I say go for it! And as for gender roles, FUCK THEM! If you wanna have long hair and wear make up, you do it boo!
          I am a pretty feminine and sassy guy myself, and some people are kinda put off by it, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna try to change that about myself.

            I dont see the relation between long hair and being sissy. I'm into metal/hard-rock/goth stuffs and frequent bars dedicated to such interest, lots of guys I know have long hair and are really masculine, straight or sometimes bi. Just think about vikings and how long hair meant masculine power. Long hairs are cool.

                I don't know about other places, but in places like America, England, Australia etc.

                I also don't understand or get people sometimes, but;

                Long/grown out hair on men is seen as creepy, feminine, strange, etc.

                It's just the way it is. Women are allowed to have longer hair with no judgment and are sometimes shunned for having short hair, and men typically have shorter clean cut hairstyles.

                As far as gay men, I do notice that shockingly not that many gay men have long hair, and many gay men actually hate guys with longer hair. Perhaps due to the reasons above. Even though you would think it would be more accepted and allowed and understood.

                Right now my hair is in an Afro and it grows extremely fast. In my younger years I had it relaxed and straightened and in ponytails.

                In recent years I do like an afro mohawk and usually when I get upset I just have it all off and start over.

                I think I want to try dreadlocks next.

                  Long hair for dudes was 'in' during the 80's, which are regarded as the best (yet most unfashionable) decade of every century.

                  Honestly, as long as you keep your mane clean and groomed (and you don't mind the extra care it entails), go for it.

                      You will always get people judging others! Just do you and be whoever you want to be regardless of what others think  :hug2:

                        Uf, I love long hair on a guy if they're curly. It takes me totally somewhere else. I was in love with some bass player in one rock group. I would play with those hair 😊 Every guy at that time almost had long hair, but that' because most people I knew had their bands. But if they're not curly, I'd prefer short. I'm not judging or anything, I know too many who judge. Even what movies I watch or music I listen. I just prefer short these days. But you do your thing. If sissy or whatever. If you feel good like that go for it.
                        Just some info. 30 years ago, my friend who works at beauty saloon in Australia said, it's normal for guys to go there to get make-up so you can put that in everyone's nose.
