Submissive yes, but the stronger emotion for me is more cathartic. When the sting is enough to draw a tear, it almost erases other thoughts and emotions.

If it is discipline, then yes I feel very submissive and emotional. As an example a softer spanking, might bring tears, more from emotional release though as opposed to pain, while a longer and harder spanking, may just get a few yelps.
If its just a few swats over my jeans or shorts, it makes me smile and laugh …
